Even if most or all respondents would prefer not to Express his genuine opinion, say, on matters of an intimate nature, and will choose any other response, reflecting some of the General settings, or the response of the prestigious nature, and in this case, the "insincere" answers of the respondents will be the expression of some common plants for the assessment of this phenomenon.
The sociologist asks the question about whether respondents premarital sexual relations. Immediately we can assume that most of the respondents prefer to shy away from sincere answer and choose the one that corresponds to commonly accepted opinion. The respondents in this case can be regarded as insincere, perhaps because some part of the answers is untrue. But you can consider them as true, i.e. from the perspective of the analysis of respondents ' attitudes to this phenomenon, then we get different information, completely relevant reality, which reflected the answers of the respondents.
We ask women about their age and find out the result of the questionnaire that women are slightly younger than it actually is. This means that, in their responses women (or some of them) several "rejuvenated" himself. If you can call them answers sincere? Of course not, if we want to obtain information on the average age of the respondents women. But at the same time, their responses can be considered quite sincere in terms of their attitudes, opinions about yourself on such an important issue as the age. The answers to these fully reflect the specific objective reality - opinion and attitudes of respondents. Not by chance the question "How much do You give?" and the vast majority of women, if not all, say they have fewer years than you really are. The difference in responses to this question is that some say much less, others a little smaller than it actually is, but the essence remains the same.
