About the present is often referred to as the era or at least about
the aggregate characteristics of the era. It is placed in the calendar, where she
preceded by pre-modernity, a more or less naive or archaic, and
it is mysterious and thrilling post-modernity [post-modernit(]. And
then we can ask whether modernity is a continuation and development
Aufkl(rung, or it should see the gap, deviation from
the fundamental principles of the XVIII century.
Referring to the text of Kant, I ask the question: can we consider
modernity not as a historical period, and how installation? Under installation I
mean way of relating to relevance; a voluntary choice, we do
individuals, and finally, the way to think and feel, method of action
and behavior, which also indicates the specific identity and
acts as a task. Undoubtedly, this is somewhat reminiscent of what the Greeks
called ethos. And therefore, I believe that more ought to seek
not have come to distinguish the modern period from periods
pre-modernity and post-modernity, and to the understanding of how to install
modernity was opposed by "counter-modern" installations.
To briefly describe this setting of the modern, I
use the example, which is here almost necessary: we are talking about Baudelaire,
because in his person we are dealing with one of the most refined
of the consciousness of modernity in the nineteenth century.
1. Often trying to define modernity through the understanding of discontinuity
time: a break with tradition, a feeling of a new, giddy
what is happening. Baudelaire, it would seem that saying that when it detects
modernity as something "transient, fleeting, random." But for him
to be modern meant to realize and accept it's continuous movement, and
on the contrary, to be against him in a particular setup; and this
arbitrary and difficult to install is to grab something
eternal that is not beyond the present moment and not behind him
and in himself. Modernity differs from fashion, that is simple
following the passage of time; this setting allows you to grasp that
"heroic" which is in the present. Modernity is not just
sensitivity to the fleeting present; it is the will to "glorification"
this.
