Human memory has become a very significant obstacle to accurate reproduction with knowledge, and most importantly, its transfer to new generations, so to speak, in uncomplicated form. Only a retelling of the texts and pass it so the new generation has had enough. So over time the knowledge was recorded on some solid media: stone, clay, papyrus, paper, and something else, and today, and on a variety of electronic media.
Fixing knowledge on physical media has become a significant progress in human life and here's why. This meant that the new generation retains the possibility to create their own interpretation of the source text.

But most importantly, the transfer of knowledge through physical media was carried out without going through the live media. Recorded knowledge becomes thus a life of their own, a value and a meaning that is different from the direct experience of the living, which the carrier is every single person. At that moment, when he was made first a mindless recording of experience, this moment was the beginning of a transition in qualitatively new condition of human life.
