Sound, word and sentence are built not by themselves, but always for someone else. For your other, or second self, which is a kind of special realm of consciousness, which enters into a dialogue with others my me. Or for another that is outside of consciousness, in the external natural environment.
But it is necessary to make so that the sound, word and sentence was that the other understood. Because of this need for sound, word is assigned some certain content, which may be called the meaning. And if the word contains another meaning, it becomes incomprehensible, and thus, ceases to play the role of a symbol for a strictly defined situation. So the word "loaf" in St. Petersburg, has a slightly different meaning than in Moscow.
In other words, the sound and the word in a limited context is assigned certain content that is clearly understood by all subjects given limited community. If there is a need to concrete the word had the same meaning for different communities, separated from each other, for example, territory, or time (physical or social i.e. belonging to a different disjoint communities, distributed in space and in time), it invented a universal language, often called the literary language.
And referred to as proper language, which is studied at school: "How to speak". The truth is always, partly or mainly, say "wrong", based on the linguistic characteristics of the area, community or dialect, etc., which in turn is a condition for language development.
The proposal also has its classic literary forms of construction and local semantic features. But most importantly, it should be clear to the person facing them. There are a number of prerequisites the neglect of which may lead to the suggestion that their functions will not perform.
The first step in the formation of the "correct" proposal is to build it in strict accordance with grammatical forms and rules, i.e. the alignment of the words relative to each other as morphological units in some sequence. Grammar has its own objects, build and category, i.e. a system of morphological, syntactic constructions, as a way of producing sentences and texts. There are its own laws and its own logic.
But grammar deals only with the way of presenting the relationship of words, formation and combination of word forms, etc., regardless of the content of the words themselves. If the words put in the wrong order, as specified in the grammar, the meaning can be unclear. This typically occurs when interlinear translation of sentences from one language to another.
